Guide to the Best Restaurants in Wynwood Miami

Looking for a cool artsy and hip place to hang out in Miami, FL? Look no further than the Wynwood District in Miami. I had the chance to be a tourist in my own town as I participated in the Miami Culinary Tours in Wynwood. No worries, I was not wearing the "I'm In Miami, B*tch" t-shirt with the hat to match. But I did have my handy dandy camera and took some amazing photos of the beautiful neighborhood, art galleries all while enjoying some delicious food in the Wynwood restaurants. Here are 5 local restaurants you have to check out in Wynwood Miami!

Wynwood Kitchen and Bar
2550 NW 2nd Ave Miami, Florida | 305.722.8959

A perfect blend of Latin influenced cuisine and the beautiful art of the Wynwood Walls. There is both indoor and outdoor seating so if it's not too hot I would definitely recommend sitting outside to have front row seats to the graffiti walls. They offer a variety of flavorful small plates where I had the chance to indulge in the tequeño, platano maduro and ropa vieja.

Mmmm Wynwood
2519 NW 2nd Ave Miami, FL 33127 | 786.703.3409

The decor at this place is just absolutely adorable with a cute, neon pink pop art signage that you can't miss. The palm trees wallpaper reminds me of a tropical print you will find on a trendy summer dress. Although they are very well known for their ice cream dessert their tartines are another delish special they offer.

Suviche
2751 N Miami Ave Miami, FL 33127 | 305.501.5010

Let me start off by saying I am not really a fan of ceviche, well more like I never really gave it a chance. However, the traditional ceviche at this spot has a unique combination of Peruvian-Japanese cuisine. I have been craving this dish since I left the restaurant and can't wait to head back. Plus the location has a great ambiance with swing seats in the outdoor area. They also have a full bar that makes some pretty passion fruit cocktails.

Made In Italy Gourmet
10 NE 27th St Miami, FL 33137 | 786.360.5671

Now this is definitely Wynwood's hidden gem. Once you step in you'll forget you are actually in Miami, yes that is how authentic it is. There is a deli spot with tables to dine in, a wine library and an Italian grocery corner where you can buy fresh pasta, sauces, cheeses and more. Although I didn't get to try any hot food I will definitely be returning with the girls for a fun wine night in Wynwood, or shall I say Italy.

Fireman Derek’s World Famous Pies
2818 N Miami Ave Miami, FL 33127 | 786.449.2517

Time for dessert! Just as the name says, Derek is a real Miami Firefighter and when he is not too busy he is baking the best desserts in town. Now I normally stay away from key lime pie, it's not my cup of tea, in which I was actually going to decline the offer to test out the pie. However, thank goodness I didn't, it was a taste of heaven with every bite! The location is very tiny, so it's more of a pick up and go kinda thing.

Jimmy’z Kitchen Wynwood
2700 N Miami Ave Miami, FL 33127 | 305.573.1505

Before you ask where are the pictures at Jimmy'z? Let's just say I was too busy munching on some delicious mofongo to be worried about any photos. Sorry! It was actually named the best Mofongo in Miami by the Miami New Times. My absolute favorite dish at this place is the grilled chicken breast with a side order of shredded carrots and BBQ sauce. Mmmm mmm delicioso!
