Coats and coats of mascara, eyelash serum, fake eyelashes and more. All women desire those beautiful, flirty and long lashes, but unfortunately we were not all blessed with such lengths. I have itty bitty thin lashes that you practically need a magnify glass to see them. I've attempted to apply false lash strips but that experience was a complete disaster from eyes being glued shut to lashes flying away, gone with the wind, literally. Now I know that eyelash extensions can be both pricey and time consuming, but let me tell, it's so worth it! I sat down with Krissy Celess of Lavish Minks to find out more about lash extensions and here is what I have to share...
Eyelash Extensions vs Strip Lashes.
Strip lashes can actually be damaging to your natural lashes when you pull the strip off, you might be pulling out a few hairs as well. Where as lash extensions are applied strand by strand and naturally fall off with the growth of your own eyelashes.
Will The Lash Extensions Look Natural?
You get to pick what length and how dramatic you want the eyelashes to look. Whether it's for a special occasion or for an everyday look, a professional eyelash technician will be able to help you achieve the desired appearance.
How Long Do Lash Extensions Last?
It's important not to wet your lashes and be around any heat for 48 hours from application to ensure the adhesive sets properly. After that, they can last as long as 4 weeks with proper care and can even last months with touch ups every 2-4 weeks. If you wait too long, you’ll have to completely re-do them.
Can I Still Wear Eye Makeup and Wash My Face With Lash Extensions?
Mascara is not recommended since it can cause clumping and making the lashes fall earlier than expected. You can wash your face as usual but avoid anything oil based such as face oil, oil cleansers, makeup remover, etc.
What Is The Different Between Mink and Synthetic Lashes?
The main difference between the types of lashes comes down to their firmness, are they real or synthetic. Mink lashes are softer and more natural looking, which is why they are the new craze.
Will The Lash Extensions Damage My Natural Eyelashes?
The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. Make sure to do your research for the best technician. If applied correctly and properly, they will not ruin the nature of your natural lashes. Make sure not to rub your eyes or pull on the extensions because that is what will cause damage to your natural lashes.
