The Exposed Bobby Pin Hairstyle Trend for the Holidays

The bobby pin was once used as a styling tool for the traditional protective hair wrap or as Dominicans call it a tubi, is now being used as a hair accessory. We've spent years hiding bobby pins inside our hair for a specific updo, but lately women are embracing bobby pins as accessories instead of tools. Celebrities such as Solange Knowles and Rihanna have shown off their version of the hair trend on the red carpet. I have teamed up with Hair Cuttery to show you guys my take on the exposed bobby pin hairstyle just in time for the holidays.

The good thing about this hair trend is that no matter your hair length or texture, there are countless ways to rock the exposed bobby pin trend. I've rocked this trend with curly hair before but this time around I wanted to slick back my straight mane in a stylish way with a few pins above the ears. I headed on over to the nearest Hair Cuttery for a sleek blowout. To be honest I don't always go to the same stylist because it really depends what errands I am running that day and what part of the city I am in. Normally I just search their website to find the nearest salon to me and just show up as a walk-in customer.

Since I do have naturally curly hair the Hair Cuttery Stylist normally applies CIBU Sashini Thermal Shine Spray on my dry hair before flat ironing to protect my hair from heat styling. At the same time this spray adds shine and eliminates frizz. After styling my hair it was time to spice things up a bit with the bobby pins; with just a few strategic placements, you can easily turn your holiday look from basic to fabulous in minutes. Get creative by using the pins to create geometric shapes, criss cross pins, train track style, the designs are endless.

Hopefully now that we are showing the bobby pins off we might get better at keeping track of them. The exposed bobby pin hairstyle has been used to create a number of creative looks. Who knew this hair tool that was once used to hold hair in place during bad hair days would become a fly trendy accessory. The holiday season is all about having fun so let your hair be a part of the festivities! Will you be exposing your pins at any Christmas parties this year? You can try this hair trend on a smooth blowout, a glam blowout, a sleek ponytail/braid or even on big sexy curls. Tis' the season of flawless hair and click here to find the nearest Hair Cuttery salon to you.

  1. That is a style that really becomes you. I rarely do anything special with my blonde, I admit it, colored hair and it works for me. I wonder how that look would work on me? Why not?

  30. The primary thing that certainly stood out enough to be noticed was the extraordinary measures of hair style photographs for extremely short, short, medium, long and updo hair styles.
