Healthy Hair Starts with the Scalp
Unfortunately, I have a dry scalp with visible skin flaking which can be so embarrassing at times. When my scalp is flaky I have to avoid wearing dark color clothing since it usually falls on my shoulders and looks like its snowing from my head. I have to play around on where I part my hair to avoid displaying the redness and flakiness. I've tried different shampoos that claim to lock in moisture but they smell kind of funky. First and foremost, the Head & Shoulders Green Apple Shampoo smells delish! I did 2-3 washes to really make sure I cleaned my hair and scalp. To test the results I scratched different areas of my head and made sure there was no dandruff underneath my nails. Now to make sure I lock in the moisture I applied conditioner after my cleansing. The Head & Shoulders Green Apple Conditioner also has a fresh green-apple scent. It locks in dandruff-fighting power and provides extra conditioners to leave the hair soft, beautiful and smelling amazing.
Tips to Achieving Loose Waves Showing Off Your Flake-Free Part
Now that I have a clean and fresh foundation by using Head & Shoulders Shampoo & Conditioner it was time to style my hair. I used rollers and sat under the dryer for an hour and then straightened out just my roots with a hair iron. This styling technique keeps hair voluminous and bouncy. I tried out four different hairstyles (straight, big curls, side swept, tucked behind ears) all inspired by the gorgeous actress, Sofia Vergara. I usually just do a side part but now that my scalp wasn't flaking I had the chance to play around with both the side and middle part and not having to worry about "snowing" on my clothes!
