Dealing with Embarrassing Dandruff | Go and Brush Your Shoulders Off

Who here suffers from dandruff and/or dry itchy scalp? Unfortunately I’m someone who does. My dandruff can be mild from a few tiny flakes visible on my scalp or dropping onto my shoulders. Leading me to only wear white shirts or light clothing to try to hide it. There has been more severe moments when it looks like a ‘snow storm’ falling onto my shoulder, and that is just pure embarrassment. I wanted to be able to wear black shirts again. Which is why I switched to Dove Dermacare Scalp shampoo and conditioner, to help banish hair dandruff all while having smooth and manageable hair.

I CAN'T STOP SCRATCHING MY HEAD.

Dandruff is also known as dry itchy flaky scalp. The first rule when treating an itchy scalp is not to scratch. Scratching can actually make the condition worse and more visible. You will notice more flakes of skin dropping onto your clothes, so scratching is the last thing you want to do in public. Excessive and frequent scratching of inflamed skin can damage the scalp and lead to wounds which may bleed. This has actually happened to me to the point where I sometimes find blood stains under my fingernails when I scratch my scalp. Can't believe I admitted that, but sadly it's the truth. The Dove Dermacare Anti-Dandruff Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner relieves irritation and leaves hair flake free with regular use.

I WAN'T TO WEAR BLACK SHIRTS AGAIN.

An itchy scalp can be a socially embarrassing situation. I do not want to be caught scratching my head like a mad woman. Just imagine wearing something dark and feeling the need to scratch your scalp, knowing if you do so that flakes of skin are likely to end up all over your shoulders. Which is why wearing light-colored clothing will help hide your dandruff and make the flakes much less noticeable. Another way I deal with it is by wearing a cap, hat, or scarf to hide the dandruff on my scalp.

But like I just said, this is only hiding the dandruff not helping to get rid of it. The last thing I want to do is carry a lint roller to pick the flakes off the fabric. If the little flakes on your scalp and shoulders are starting to make you feel self-conscious, then it's time to look into a dandruff treatment. Don't let dandruff control your life and hold you back from wearing your favorite outfits. Throw the hat away (or just put it in your closet for now) and lets kiss dandruff goodbye with Dove Dermacare Anti-Dandruff Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner.

PREVENT AND MAINTAIN AND DANDRUFF-FREE HAIR AND SCALP.

Aggressive washing and harsh products could take away your scalp's nutrients and hair's moisture balance, making it dry and dull. With Dove Dermacare Anti-Dandruff Dryness & Itch Relief Shampoo and Conditioner you don’t have to compromise between flake free and nourished hair. It is formulated with coconut and shea butter to nourish and alleviate dryness. You can prevent most simple cases of dandruff by following the simple healthy hair and scalp routines below:

  • Shampoo regularly with Dove Dermacare Scalp Dryness & Itch Relief Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. It effectively tackles dandruff with regular use to help solve dryness and itch.
  • Drink water to properly hydrate skin leading to a healthy scalp. Water is integral to our health. What you might not know is how it affects your scalp.
  • Avoid using too many hair products. All those styling products may be causing your hair and scalp to dry out. Looks for gels and hair creams that don't have alcohol.
