Lynnette Joselly: Introducing Samantha Black

Introducing Samantha Black

I recently featured the Sammy B dress "Love & Hip Hop's" Olivia Longott wore on an episode. Samantha Black, the designer of Sammy B/Samantha Black, graduated in 2005 from the prestigious Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, receiving a BFA with a concentration in fashion design. While in school she interned for Jill Stuart and Michael Kors, then moved to London after college for several months where she worked for the renowned Alexander McQueen in his design studio. Upon her return to the States, Samantha then worked for a company called Jimmyz, owned by Aeropostale. At Jimmyz, Samantha was the head designer of the entire women’s denim line, ranging from bottoms, dresses and outerwear. Today, Samantha takes bits and pieces of inspiration from everywhere and everything—as well as from the designers she's been blessed to work with; she combines that with her own individual style, personality and flavor, thereby producing the line known as Sammy B! Her goal is to complement those who are chic and fashion forward, all the while enhancing their style with that extra pop. With a wide range of looks and separates she hopes to appeal to the masses—but mainly females like herself: TOMBOYS IN PUMPS! sammybdesigns.com
