How to Conquer Embarrassing Dark Underarms

I remember there was one photo of me raising my hands in which a few people on social media decided to comment about my unshaved underarms. But in reality, I did shave that day, however the camera captured an unflattering picture of my dark armpits. To this day, I am still self conscious about showcasing my underarms in photos. Which is why I am so excited Simply Stylist introduced me to Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant, which might actually be the perfect solution for me. I'll be working with Dove to share with you some skin care tips to cover the main concerns of underarm care.

Think about it, we can all get away with no makeup days, but I will not be walking out the door without applying deodorant. With this Miami heat, it's an absolute must to protect yourself from sweaty armpits and bad body odor. But unfortunately, that is not all our underarms suffer from. There are other issues such as irritation, red marks, dry skin and as I mentioned before, an uneven skin tone. I have put together a few tips for you to try out to achieve those beautiful underarms we all desire.

Shaving. The more you expose your underarms the more you need to shave. To avoid any irritation and possible cuts, make sure to use shaving cream and a good razor. I tend to use a man's razor because it was designed for facial skin and leaves smoother results.

Waxing or Laser Hair Removal. These are your two best options to get rid of any stubble. I personally cannot let my armpit hair grow long enough to wax off so I recently started laser hair removal treatments in my underarms. Looking forward to saying goodbye to razors!

Exfoliate. It's important to scrub well to remove dead skin and any deodorant residue. Bath gloves in the shower will definitely do the job.

Deodorant. After exfoliation it's important to moisturize the skin. Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant will provide moisture that can also help restore skin to it's natural skin tone. So if you don't want to invest time searching for at-home-DIY treatments with lemons and potatoes to lighten your underarms, this antiperspirant can be an essential upgrade to your daily beauty routine.
