So it's that time of the month and you just want to lay down in bed all day in fetal position. I get it, we all do, I mean heck, we have all been there. The last thing on your mind is to get up and hit the gym, however it's been said that working out can actually help relieve a few of these period symptoms we all dislike. I have partnered with U by Kotex® and Walmart to show you ladies that we can still get our sweat on by exercising during our menstrual cycle. Plus the pads are covered in bold colors and cute designs that you don't have to worry about hiding it while trying to sneak it it to the bathroom.
Stick to your comfort zone. Clearly everyone responds differently to these hormonal changes so make sure to listen to your body and stick within your comfort zone. Normally the first two days of my period are extra heavy and uncomfortable that working out may not even be an option. But if you take a week long break every month, those abs will take even longer to make their appearance. So instead of doing a full dance session or a long distance run, let's bring it down a notch to a lighter exercise.
Water is your best friend. Well water should always be your best friend but especially during your period. You will be sweating off extra fluids that can help make you feel less bloated. If you have a heavy flow, there is a chance you can get light headed quickly so make sure to drink a little extra H20. Staying hydrated will help prevent headaches or exhaustion you might normally have as a side-effect from being on your period.
Wear the right clothes. One of our biggest concerns is worrying about an embarrassing leak. Wear dark colored pants and avoid wearing shorts. You will be moving your body in ways that may cause more of a flow so using the U by Kotex® Cleanwear® Ultra Thin Pads with fast absorption can help stop leaks. Some say tampons are much better at preventing leaks than pads are, but their application may not be comfortable for everyone. Also, bring a jacket to tie around your waist just in case you have an accident of some sort.
Exercising will give you energy. Although you might feel moody, the best thing you can do is push through it. We always feel full of energy and confidence after we complete the workout. The next thing you know, it's day 7 and you are with a light period. This is when the U by Kotex® Barely There Liners come in handy because it's so thin and comfortable that you’ll barely know it’s there!

When it's that time of the month, what activities do you engage in to seek comfort? or are you the type to satisfy your cravings with something sweet? Let me know What Matters to U!
I also work out during that time of the month, and it does seem to help minimize discomfort (and allows me to focus on myself, minimizing some of that moodiness that can occur). Thanks for the suggestions! #client
ReplyDeleteI've always heard about this but thought it was a myth. I'll have to try it out next month instead of my usual whining routine lol
