Whether you went to the salon to get your hair did or spent a few hours working out those arms to attempt to blow dry your hair, it's important we make this blowout last as long as possible. Side note, I think we can all agree that it is a huge luxury to never wash your own hair (especially if you have unruly curls), I mean those scalp massages by your hair stylist just feel absolutely amazing. I have teamed up with Hair Cuttery to share with you all a few tips on how to make a blow out last up to a week using their very own line of hair products, Cibu.

Day 1: You just left the salon (or your bathroom) with a fresh blow out and damn, it looks good. You might not be able to help yourself from running your hands through that silky hair but let's avoid touching your hair too much. You want to keep the volume so hands off! Also before you go night night, wrap your hair loosely in a silk or satin scarf. Or how Dominicans call it, a tubi.

Day 2: Your hair should still be in pretty good condition today. No need for hair sprays or serums just yet, they just weigh your hair down. Just make sure when washing your face use a head band to keep your hair out of your face. Also cover your full head with a good shower cap when showering. If you have curly hair like me you already know that one drop of water will cause the kinks to come out.

Day 3: By this point, your hair is probably starting to look sad and boring. I suggest you flip your head upside down and mist Cibu 8 Days A Week Texture Finishing Spray from roots to ends and then scrunch your hair a bit to create the "slept-in" texture. This spray will help absorb oils to keep that volume going strong.

Day 4: It’s dry shampoo time! Meet your new best friend CIBU Ka Pow Dry Shampoo which effectively soaks up excess oil and makes roots look fresh. I like to use a comb to separate my hair in the crown of my head to spray a bit of dry shampoo. Let it sit for a minute before tousling hair to remove any signs of the powder. If necessary I would use a flat iron to touch up any little hairs that might have gotten wet in the shower or from sweating.

Day 5 and 6: It's actually easier to style dirty hair because it has it's natural texture to stay in place. Which is why I like to spice things up a bit and add some texture with a curling iron. I have also noticed the older my blowout is the less I have to worry about flyaways since the natural oils take care of all all that. But of course I continue to use the Ka Pow Dry Shampoo to increase volume and make hair appear thicker and fuller.

Day 7: Now you’re in the final stretch. Your hair is dirty girl! I like to squeeze in one more hairstyle before washing and that is either some sort of braid or a ponytail. During the last day my hair is pretty much limpy and stinky, (sad but true) so let's just tuck it away so that no one else has to take a whiff. Now just imagine how great that shampoo is going to feel.

  5. I have curly hair problems, but I solve them all by sticking my hair in a permanent ponytail and never letting people see it. Lol. I'll have to try a blow out next time I can get out of the house.

  9. Love these tips. I actually never blow dry my hair because my hair is dead straight even after washing it but I do like to add volume from time to time so I can see how this would help

  11. I haven't gotten a blowout in a really long time. In fact, my husband has never seen me with straight hair. My current hairstylist is nicknamed "the curl doctor" and he's all about natural curls. But there are some blowout salons in my hair. Will have to get one once the weather cools a little so it will last a little longer. I just want to see if my husband recognizes me!

  23. Girl, I know the struggle. When I permed hair, blow-outs didn't last me more than two days and during the summer, I'd be lucky if I get home before a puff shows up on the top of my head. But I'm kinda relieved you found some tricks around that though. That's pretty cool!
