As you may know I have natural curly hair and this summer heat is no joke. Talk about instant frizz with all this Miami humidity. Lucky for you I have put together a list of tips to better manage your hair during the hot summer days with Garnier Whole Blends and even threw in a quick hair tutorial to recreate this easy braid up-do. Now doesn't it just make you want to sing - "We're going to Kentucky, We're going to the fair. To see a Senorita, with flowers in her hair." No? Just me? Alrigghhtttyyy then, let's get started!
First and foremost, you are going to want to start with clean hair, either blow dried or curly, your choice, we are going for a messy look anyway. The Garnier Whole Blends Nourishing Hair Care products include avocado oil and Shea butter extracts to help rejuvenate dry hair. Depending on your hair needs, you can check out the rest of the New Whole Blends shampoos and conditioners by Garnier at any Walmart for less than $5 each - repair, hydrate, smooth, refresh, or color care. I chose the nourishing line because we all know curly hair tends to dry quickly without the proper moisture.
By the way, if you didn't already know this, a hair mask to curly hair is like sunshine to flowers. So instead of a DIY avocado hair mask before styling your hair, let's save that avocado for a nice salad or yummy sandwich and try out the Garnier Whole Blends Nourishing Hair Mask that includes both avocado oil and Shea butter. Avocado is helpful in both maintaining and promoting the overall health of your hair and also adds a nice little natural shine to it.
As for the easy floral braid tutorial, after you section your hair into two pigtails you are going to start the braid from the very top and work your way down to the ends. You can either split the part in the middle or in the side depending on how you would like to style it. Once you are done with one side, do the same braid to the other side. You may want to leave your hair like this with two braided pigtails or we take it to the next level with a lil' updo. Which is very simple, all you are going to do is criss-cross the two braids in the back and then secure in place with some bobby pins.
Lastly, you can accessorize with a floral headband. I mean it's summer, why not?! It's also festival season, so spice up the braided hairstyle a bit with some flowers. I hope you guys enjoyed the tips and tutorial and I would love to see how you recreate this look! You can check out the entire Garnier Whole Blends line, here.
