As most of you know I have my own company called Bella Kurls extensions where I cater to all my curly haired beauties. And I am excited to team up with Hair Cuttery to share some tips and benefits on leave-in conditioners for both your natural hair and your extensions. If you just bought a set of clip-in hair extensions you must be pretty excited to have that long hair you have always dreamed of. Since it was probably an investment purchase, it's important you care for your extensions to make sure they last as long as possible.

If your curly hair extensions are severely dry, don't worry you don't have to throw them out. All we have to do is nourish and revive the hair with Redken All Soft Mega Products from Hair Cuttery. The basics to caring for hair extensions involves gentle brushing and limited washing. But of course there are a few other hair products that can be used to prolong the life of your extensions. You are going to need a shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, leave-in treatment and a wide-tooth detangler comb. This collection works best for those with medium to coarse hair texture.

If your hair extensions are noticeably greasy or stringy, it's time for a wash. Shampoos can have an affect on your extensions just like it does on your natural hair. You want to avoid using any harsh or heavy shampoos on your extensions. The Redken All Soft Mega Shampoo contains a nourishing formula infused with a mix of sacha inchi extract, aloe vera gel, and cactus extract. This protein mixture softens and adds hydration to severely dry, coarse hair. Conditioning is a major part of any hair routine, but is especially important for those with dry hair. After shampooing, apply the Redken All Soft Mega Conditioner and distribute through hair. The brush that you use for hair extensions is very important. I've notice a wide tooth comb works best for detangling the hair without tearing too much hair off the weft.

I created Bella Kurls for those who want to give their a hair a break from heat styling with the use of hair extensions. From curly, kinky, afro or wavy texture you can get length and weight to match your natural curl pattern without curling or straightening your hair with heat. A hair mask and leave in conditioner are great complements to this process. The Redken All Soft Mega Mega Mask helps to retain moisture and hydration. This deep conditioning mask can be left on for 3-5 minutes and also serves as a care extender that lasts through 3 washes. The last step is to apply a leave in conditioner to repair damaged hair. The Redken All Soft Mega Hydramelt is a leave-in moisturizing hair lotion that provides all day nourishment without weighing your hair down. A leave-in conditioner helps you detangle and comb your hair more easily. The treatment will hydrate your curls and prepare your hair extensions before applying styling products.

Caring for your extensions should be a top priority at all times since the hair is not receiving any nutrients from your body like our natural hair does. Without adequate care, hair extensions can become dry and can even become unusable, which means you would have wasted hard earned money. Whether you have extensions or not, if your have dry and coarse hair, click here to locate the nearest Hair Cuttery to you. Pick up the latest Redken products to hydrate those curls or ask a hair stylist what products would be best for your hair type.

  7. It's great to know that leave-in conditioners can be used to hair extensions. I'm thinking of buying extensions since my hair is short now and I kinda miss my long hair.
