When it comes to traveling I am not really sure what it means to pack light. I have one luggage for my clothes and shoes and then a full duffle bag filled with hair products and tools. It's not easy dealing with curly hair as I can't always just get up and go. I will be the first to tell you that caring for your curly hair when traveling can be a challenge. You want to be able to style your hair and be on time to all the group activities during vacation, if not you will get left behind! No-one has time to wait on you and your hair. Sometimes I am tempted to take the easy way out by putting my hair in a bun or just hiding the mess under a hat. But lucky for you I have teamed up with Hair Cuttery to share some quick tips and tricks on how to make traveling with curly hair a bit easier.

Travel Size Products for Curly Hair.

As a blogger who loves her natural curly hair, I want my Instagram photos to show off not only the beautiful scenery but a good hair day too. If you don't want to check in your bag, then you need to look into travel size products. The Mini CIBU Color Hair Shampoo and Conditioner help protect color treated hair from fading due to UV and environmental exposure. They are sulfate and paraben-free to soften hair for increased smoothness and shine. Even if you don't have color treated hair, you can still use these products. If you are really tight on space then check out the CIBU 3 In 1 Conditioning Shampoo + Body Wash MINI. It is a multi-functional conditioning shampoo and body wash that refreshes your scalp and skin with key ingredients like wild mint and eucalyptus.

Block Humidity and Frizz.

There are some products that don’t exactly offer “travel-size” versions. That's not a problem, you can make your own. For example the CIBU Curl Magnet Curl Amplify Cream is only available in the full size but you can easily squeeze it into a 3.4 ounce container for smart traveling. What I love about this curly hair cream is that it defines curls and waves all while resisting frizz. It has a medium hold so don't worry about any hard crunchy curls. This is a great curly hair product for vacation as it's key ingredient Jojoba seed oil moisturizes curls and blocks humidity and frizz. After going for a swim, wash your hair and then set your curl pattern for a natural look with this hair cream.

Extend the Life of Your Wash and Go.

Some people think dry shampoo is just for blow dried hair but the purpose of it is to absorb and remove oil, sweat, and odor with zero residue. I don't know about you but curly hair can use this too, especially while on vacation. The CIBU Ka Pow Dry Shampoo MINI can work wonders on curls, as it also adds texture and volume. I like to section off my curly hair to be able to target different layers of the roots as I spray. To help encourage volume, I flip my head over and rake my fingers through my scalp back and forth to work the product into the roots and get rid of any powdery residue. Afterwards I like to finish off with CIBU Shine Squad Argan Oil Treatment MINI on the body of the curls (avoid roots) to enhance shine and eliminate frizz. And last but not least, spray some CIBU Finista Flexible Finishing Spray MINI to hold the curls in place. The coconut oil in this finishing spray helps fight humidity.

Bonus: How to Make Your Manicure Last Through a Vacation

If you are like me, then getting a manicure and pedicure is part of your trip planning before leaving for vacation. From going to the pool, swimming in the beach, or washing your hair, peeling, chipping or cracked nail polish is bound to happen. However when applied properly with all three steps, the OPI Infinite Shine mani will last up to 11 days. This polish is a mix of a gel formula that is applied with a primer base coat, a lacquer, and a gold top coat. No LED light is required.
