Fashion Trend: Varsity Jackets.

The varsity jacket is not just for high school athletes anymore. This is a sporty trend that is comfortable and casual. Since these letterman jackets are loose they can be worn by any body type. This preppy style is a comeback from the 60s in which were made of nylon or polyester.

Beauty Cheat Sheet: Party-Proof Your Curls

Even the bounciest ringlets can drag on the dance floor. Our pro method will deliver the body and hold you need for an all-nighter.

1. Tresemmé celebrity stylist Mara Roszak suggests your prep first by blow-drying wet hair. Then mist a lightweight hair spray all over the top layers. Flip your head upside down to reach the bottom section.

2.Holding a curling iron vertically near your temple, clamp it to the 1-inch section of hair closest to your face, and rotate the barrel outward. Release after five seconds.

3. Immediately roll the just-curled section around your finger, and secure it to your scalp with a bobby pin. It's okay if it's messy or the end sticks out.

4. Repeat the above two steps with the next section of hair, but this time, twist the barrel toward your face. Alternating the direction of the curls prevents them from clumping together.

5. Keep going until you finish curling and pinning up all your hair, then apply another coat of the spray.

6. After five minutes, remove all the bobby pins, and rake your fingers through your hair to break up the curls. Once they're styled exactly the way you want them, spritz on a final layer of hair spray.

How to Rehab Chemically-Damaged Hair

by Jane Park

Changing up your hair color can be lots of fun, but overdoing it or going to a bad colorist can leave your formerly lush locks looking parched and lifeless. Unfortunately, there's no way to undo the damage that's already been done, but giving your hair a little TLC can certainly go a long way.

According to Kattia Solano, owner of Butterfly Studio Salon in New York City: "The only solution here is to get your hair cut often and use a heavy moisturizing treatment. You can alternate between using almond or olive oil and a nourishing mask product like Masquintense by Kerastase, which is excellent for adding moisture to dried locks. The best way to use a deep conditioning treatment or mask is to make a ponytail, apply the product on just your ends (or wherever the hair is damaged), and leave it on overnight; this should be done twice a week. The almond or olive oil should be applied on the ends once a week. Only treating the ends allows the damaged hair to repair itself without making the healthy parts of the hair feel oily or heavy."

How to Get a Natural Yet Pretty Makeup Look for Back-to-School

by Jane Park

Just because you prefer taking a more natural makeup approach definitely doesn't mean you have to look boring. When applied the right way, makeup can subtly yet stunningly enhance the beautiful qualities you already have; in other words, you'll still look like you, only better! But first things first—you need to have a good skincare routine in place. "Great makeup starts with great skin, so make sure to cleanse and moisturize your face twice a day, and use a moisturizer with SPF for day," says renown makeup artist Bobbi Brown.

"When starting your makeup routine, the first thing you want to do is make your skin look even and perfect. Start by applying a tinted moisturizer (for the most part, teens do not need foundation), and then use a touch-up or foundation stick on any spots that need a little extra coverage, like on a pimple or around the nose where redness often occurs," she advises. After you've evened out your skin, it's time to give it a bit of color—but fake it, don't bake it. "If you love the sun-kissed look, use a bronzer to get a great glow. Apply bronzer to the areas of the face where the sun naturally hits (forehead, nose, high on the cheeks, and a bit on the neck). Then apply a pretty pink blush onto the apples of your cheeks. The color blush you choose should be on the natural side; I suggest finding one that matches the color of your cheeks after you exercise," Bobbi says.

Next, prepare to play up your eyes. "You don't want to wear a color that's too bright, dark, or shimmery to school, as those colors are more for a weekend/party look. I suggest choosing a light, natural-looking eye shadow that will define your lids but not make you look overdone," she says. "Apply this shadow to just the lower part of the eyelid. Next, apply one to two coats of black mascara to really make your eyes stand out; for school, only apply it to the upper lashes."

Lastly, wear a sheer gloss on your lips to polish off your look. "Your lip gloss color should complement the natural color of your lips, so choose one that's the same shade or one shade darker or lighter than your natural lip color," Bobbi says. "Above all, remember that in order to look good, you need to feel good, which means you have to make sure to eat well and exercise. Also, drink lots of water, get plenty of rest, and don't smoke!"

Best & Worst Dressed at the 2011 VMAs

The MTV Video Music Awards are famous for bringing out the most daring red carpet styles. Worlds collide when music meets movies and stars like Zoe Saldana and (now pregnant!) Beyonce make an appearance at arguably the most zany award show of the year. From Katy Perry in Atelier Versace to Kim Kardashian in Kaufman Franco, check out the VMA's most notable fashion statements!

Beyonce in Lanvin

Beyonce showed off her baby bump in an asymmetrical Lanvin dress. The mommy-to-be paired her red hot dress with a pair of bold diamond earrings and a casual side ponytail. We can't wait to watch Beyonce's pregnancy style evolve!

Selena Gomez in Julien Macdonald

Selena Gomez took a walk on the dark side in a dramatic lacy frock. The teen star opted for a black dress with a high collar, lace paneling detail and an asymmetrical hem. Selena punctuated the look with a simple updo and shiny gold pummps. Are you loving Selena's dark ensemble?

Zoe Saldana in Barbara Bui

Zoe Saldana took the plunge into the deep-v trend for the VMAs this year. The actress opted for a sleek Barbara Bui LBD with a beaded bodice and leather cap sleeves. Minx print ankle-warp platforms, an Egyptian gold bangle and a box clutch were Zoe's statement accessories of choice.

Kim Kardashian in Kaufman Franco

Kim Kardashian sparkled in a sexy Kaufman Franco gown. The silver sequined dress with a plunging neckline showed off Kim's signature curves. She finished off the look with a cuff bracelet and sleek straight hair. Her prettiest accessory? Her newlywed glow!

Miley Cyrus in Roberto Cavalli

Miley Cyrus was a knock-out on the MTV white carpet in a floor-sweeping Roberto Cavalli gown. The burn-out design combined Roberto's signature tiger stripes with faded Japanese flower print. A romantic updo and silver jewelry added sparkle to Miley's elegant look.

Nicki Minaj

Wowza. Nicki Minaj took her statement red carpet looks to a whole new level for the VMAs in a creation that is beyond words. Tim Burton meets Japanese street fashion in this extravagant ensemble incorporating a mask, a multi-colored stacked wig, a mirrored dress and chain of stuffed animals. Enough said.

Kelly Rowland in Falguni & Shane Peacock

Kelly Rowland stunned in a feathered and sexy ensemble. The black and gold embroidered dress with a plunging neckline, feathered skirt and leather detailing was perfectly dramatic for the star-studded event.
