Fashion Trend: How To Wear Neon Colors

I have previously mentioned that neon nails were trending.. and now more neon is trending! LJ is here to help you rock this trend without looking like a glow stick! Wearing white or black as the neutral color with a hint of neon accessories is the safest way to go. Such as a neon belt, statement jewelry, or shoes. If you want to bring it up a notch and be more daring, try rocking a neon blouse, blazer or even neon leggings. But remember the trick is to balance off the brightness with a neutral color. So wearing neon from head to toe is definitely a no no! The neon trend I am dying for is the neon satchel bag. Have you rocked neon this season? Share your outfits with me!

Name Those Shoes: Giuseppe Zanotti Fall 2011 Neon Wedge Booties

If you want to stand out of the crowd then neon is definitely the way to go. Check out these Giuseppe Zanotti Neon Wedge Booties from the Fall 2011 Collection. Unfortunately the $895 shoes are sold out but there is still a purple color on sale for $448. Some of you seem to be afraid of neon colors, but don't be.. start off with something small like Nicole Scherzinger did. She paired the neon wedges with a casual white top and washed denim jeans. Angela Simmons also used the fluorescent yellow shoes as the highlight of her outfit with a white sweater over a mini black dress. These booties were also seen on model Chanel Iman for the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Of course no one would wear all those neon colors in one outfit, well... unless you are Nicki Minaj.

Fashion Trend: Neon Nail Polish.

Brighten up your world with neon nail polish! Neon nails were popular back in the 80s and have returned to color our world. When wearing bright nails it is best to keep your nails short and squared off. The pointy nail has become pretty popular but its something I am not a fan of. Some nail colors don't look good on all skin colors so take your complexion into consideration. For lighter skin tones go for green and purple shades. And for a darker skin tone try orange and pink. Be funky and show off this bold summer trend.

Pair Up Electric Blue With Neon Yellow

Glee star, Naya Rivera, embraced the ongoing neon trend by pairing her bright blue H&M high-waisted pencil skirt with Giuseppe Zanotti yellow patent leather pumps. Now if you know me personally then you should know by now that I am as frugal as it gets. I am all about coupon codes and bargain shopping. Which is why I had to create Naya's outfit on a dress for less feature. It is such a cute outfit where the shoes really make it stand out. I was going to tone it down with a pair of black heels but it just wouldn't have the same affect. The whole color combination is perfect. How do you ladies wear neon colors? Comment below.

Blogger Inspired: Dulce Candy in Neon Blazer and Lace Trim Floral Shorts

What I Wore: White v-neck t-shirt, neon green blazer (GoJane), lace trim floral print shorts (MadRag) and beige laced up booties (MMC).

Summary: I mean if you didn't already know that Dulce Candy is one of my biggest inspirations well then now you do! I love visiting her site for outfit ideas and sometimes can't help myself but doing a replica. Here she paired a neon blazer outfit with floral print shorts. The pajama shorts fashion trend was inspired by lingerie and features a lace trim. Who ever thought PJs can look oh so chic!?

What I Wore: Black tee (Charlotte Russe), black blazer (Papaya Clothing), destroyed ripped jeans (Papaya Clothing), and pointy neon pumps (Anne Michelle).

Summary: My outfit was inspired by Armenian Princess, Kim Kardashian! A lot of her outfits are very unique and hard to imitate but here is one that is pretty simple. So simple that I think you can all pull this off! The main focus in this outfit is the pop of color from the neon pumps.

VIDEO: Fashion Trend Clothing and Accessories Haul for Summer and Fall

I went on a huge shopping spree at Marshalls, MadRag, GoJane.com, local boutiques and more! I wanted to get casual and dressy clothing that matched the latest fashion trends for Summer and Fall. I have the tendency to wear things once or twice... three times the most if its a statement piece. So I wanted to be able to buy basics that I can definitely use more than once. To begin with, chiffon blouses have been trending for a couple of seasons now. The sheer trend is the perfect transition from Summer to Fall and even Winter! They can be worn with a tank underneath if you are not comfortable wearing the sheer blouse alone.


My favorite chiffon blouse from this haul has to be the skull print sheer blouse! And as you can see I got caught up in the buying frenzy of the skull trend with a cut out neon skull top and silver skull head bracelet that is perfect for stacking an arm party!



So far I have a few pair of colored jeans but had to own some animal print pants! I got a held of leopard print denims and my next animal print I am going to try out is snake print! Only a few can pull this daring trend off without looking tacky! But I am starting off small with the use of snake print pumps with a hint of neon. Fashion Trend: Crochet Clothing

The only wool clothing that can be worn in the spring and summer time are the ones with holes in it, aka crochet clothing. Knit, weave, and macramé are similar versions. This is yet another 70s inspired trend that has come back this season. Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Emilio Pucci, and Christian Dior are just a few of the designers who featured crocheted clothing on their spring/summer 2011 runways. White and neutral tones are the best colors to feature in this trend. This trend has been seen on the most fashionable street chics through crop vests, dresses and shorts. I am dying for a flirty and feminine pair of crochet shorts!

Outfit Of The Day: Black and White with a Dash of Gold

What I Wore: Black and white striped woven blazer (Forever 21), white tank top (Forever 21), black harem pants (Papaya Clothing) and metallic beaded elastic belt (Forever 21).

Summary: I am addicted to stripes! I think one can really play around with stripes and make any outfit "chic". Instead of a basic black and white outfit, I added gold accessories as the focal point.
